In the VR simulator, you'll engage in a comprehensive training for safely working at heights. You will start by preparing necessary tools, then practice climbing using various fall protection systems. As you move at different heights, you'll learn to navigate safely across multiple modes. Additionally, the simulation includes training on how to intervene and stop unsafe behaviors among colleagues, ensuring a secure working environment for everyone involved.
You will engage in a detailed preparation for working at heights, starting with gathering tools and progressing to climbing using different insurance modes. The training involves movement at various heights and addressing unsafe behavior among colleagues. This scenario unfolds on a tank, where additional scaffolding and safety equipment are installed on the roof. A closed-type ladder and a mobile ladder facilitate access and mobility. This training aligns with NEBOSH, ISO 45001, and IOGP OMS standards for the oil and gas industry, ensuring comprehensive safety compliance.
The VR Experience
The assessment begins at an oil storage facility in the desert where you prepare for work at height. This includes communicating with a coworker, marking the perimeter with tape, setting up warning signs, gathering tools, and ensuring your safety harness is securely fitted. You will then ascend the structure using self-locking hooks, adhering to all safety protocols during the climb. As you encounter various situations, you'll adapt your methods accordingly. The session concludes with you interacting with colleagues to ensure their safety, utilizing a ladder, correcting unsafe behaviors, and gathering any unused tools at the location.
