Provide students with the skills to understand different viewpoints and recognise situations from others’ perspectives, highlighting the role of empathy in effective health and social care practice.
The full learning journey guides participants through three interactive topics, supported by additional activities including onboarding, self-reflection, and a final survey. The experience follows a linear structure, leading learners step by step through each activity. Full participation in every activity is recommended to achieve the best learning outcomes.
Each topic is designed to take approximately five minutes to complete. Actual completion time may vary depending on whether learners revisit topics to explore alternative choices, which is encouraged, or refine their open-ended responses.
Learning objectives:
- Promote and uphold dignity and respect in all interactions.
- Collaborate with individuals and their close contacts to plan care that reflects personal needs and preferences.
- Place the rights of the person receiving care at the center of decision-making, in line with their capacity and wishes.
